That is why I can’t wait to tell you a bit more about the LA Weave, a type of extension method we offer at TAUPE that gives our clients volume and length in a timely manner. It’s been a Hollywood secret for years (hence the name “LA Weave”), and if you haven’t tried it already, you’re going to love it!
While wigs have long been the go-to for women who want longer and thicker hair, I’m happy to see that alternative hair extension methods are making a comeback. Being able to enhance your real hair with extensions that add volume and length is not only trendy, it’s versatile. At TAUPE we offer various types of hair extension methods so our clients have options that work with their hair type, hair needs and lifestyle.
LA Weave hair extensions are special because of how seamless, durable and natural-looking they are. They are also one of the fastest hair extension methods available, which is perfect for clients with a busy schedule that want a change.
So how does it work?
With the LA Weave method, a track of wefts are attached to your own hair using microbeads. These rings make it easy to attach the wefts securely and discreetly. The placement of the wefts vary depending on the client’s hair density as well as how the hair will be styled.
That’s it! Installing a LA Weave doesn’t require glue and is an extension method that is braidless and very gentle, which is great for clients who want to avoid tension and/or have scalp sensitivities. They also provide versatility, allowing you to experiment with various hairstyles, from sleek and straight to a ponytail or effortless bun, making it super easy to transform your look for different occasions.
The wefts used for LA Weave are also re-usable, and the upkeep is relatively easy though I do highly recommend getting them removed at the salon.
If you decide to try LA Weave hair extensions, here is what you do:
- Buy your extensions and book your appointment. When booking an appointment for a LA Weave installation, please remember to purchase the hair extensions first. You can do that via our website under the ‘SHOP’ menu for this service. While we offer a variety of extension textures and lengths, I personally recommend the popular Kinky Straight Bundles; the texture guarantees a seamless blend with both natural and relaxed hair.
- Come in for your appointment. LA Weave is installed in rows. At TAUPE, we typically install 5 to 7 rows (the amount of rows installed depends on how voluminous you want your hair to be). You can have your hair styled at TAUPE or you can show up with your hair washed, straightened and product-free before the tracks are installed.
- Have your hair styled. If you decide to style your hair at TAUPE after having your LA Weave installed (you should), your hair will not only be washed and straightened by a professional team, but styled in the most flattering way as well. The TAUPE team will ensure you are happy with your new look.
LA Weave extensions are known for their durability and longevity – they can last up to 8 weeks, but clients can also book our LA Weave maintenance service! This service helps the install last an additional 4 weeks. Afterwards, the rows can be removed quickly and safely, making this extension method a fantastic option for a hassle-free style.
