TAUPE HAIR EXTENSIONS CARE GUIDE
Just so you know...
Proper maintenance of your sew-in units and hair extensions ensures they stay sleek, shiny and long-lasting. If you follow these tips then you'll certainly get the best out of your TAUPE hair extensions!
It is also important to have your hair extensions installed by a professional unless it is a sew-in unit.
General Care Tips:
- Handle with care: Always brush your extensions gently to avoid breakage;
- When you brush or comb the hair, always start from the bottom and work your way up;
- Use the right tools: Invest in a paddle brush or a wide-tooth comb for your extensions;
- Avoid excessive heat: Use heat styling tools sparingly and always with heat protectant.
Wash Days
To wash your hair extensions or sew-in unit when it is uninstalled, we recommend washing it in a sink. First detangle if necessary, then run the shampoo through one section and use a wide tooth comb to allow it spread through the hair evenly. Once you feel it is evenly spread you can rinse the hair by running lukewarm water through it until the shampoo is out. Repeat this step for conditioning but use cool water as your last rinse for shine.
Once you are done conditioning you can add a little bit of light serum to keep the frizz down while the hair is drying.
To wash hair extensions when they are installed you should part your hair in two sections down the middle and detangle, wash and condition each section following the same steps above.
Products to use: Use sulfate-free, paraben-free, and alcohol-free shampoos and conditioners.
Special Care:
- For tape-in extensions, avoid oil-based products: These will loosen the adhesive;
- Avoid heavy products: Stay away from heavy oils or serums that can weigh down your hair extensions;
- Regularly deep-condition your hair extensions to keep them soft;
- Avoid swimming with hair extensions or wear a swimming cap;
- Keep them tangle-free: Store your hair extensions in a satin or silk bag.
